Formatt Filters new Hot Mirror Filters have been designed to correct infrared pollution. Unlike film camera, digital cameras are sensitive to infrared light. This becomes more noticable when using neutral density filters, especially when higher densities are used.
The Formatt Hot Mirror filter has a sharp cut-off at infrared wavelengths but will not interfere with the visible red wavelengths.
The Hot Mirror coating is sandwiched internally to elimate any possibility of damage to the coated surface.
Formatt's Hot Mirror can be supplied as a combination filter with our High Definition neutral denisty filters.
The Hot Mirror HD ND filters are available in densities 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2, 1.5, 1.8, 2.1 and 2.4 and in the initial sizes of 4x5.65, 5x5, 5.65" sq and 6.6" sq.
