Clear safety sleeves consist of a rigid polycabonate oversleeve, with endcaps and washers to ensure total encapsulation of the lamp. Due to the innovative design of the end cap and rubber washer, it grips securely in a tight seal to prevent glass and phosphorus chemicals escaping. It also means installation is simple as the overtube is not loose against the fluorescent lamp and it dispenses with complicated clips and attachment devices.

The main function of clear safety sleeves is the protection from glass contamination through breakages, but they also protect the lamp from minor impacts.
